Last week civil society organisations from across Europe met MEPs at the European Parliament in Brussels.
We had a great turn out, with around 20 MEPs and advisors attending, and more requesting details about Citizens for Financial Justice and our new Spotlight report.
It was a fantastic opportunity for MEPs to connect with Citizens for Financial Justice – a partnership of 42 organisations, from 15 European countries, with the shared aim to inform and connect citizens to act together to make the global financial system work better for everyone.
We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to Sven Giegold, MEP, for hosting the event.
“Since financial inequalities have deepened worldwide, the work of ‘Citizens for Financial Justice’ is more needed than ever. I was therefore happy to help the various organisations of the alliance to meet MEPs from their home country and discuss the issues they are working on and also share their concerns. Personally, I have been dedicating a substantial part of my life combatting global inequalities, fighting for tax justice and limiting the power of finance. Networking events like the one we held in the European Parliament are an encouragement for everybody to uphold the efforts promoting a fairer, socially and environmentally sustainable world.”
