Advanced Media Institute
We focus on innovative research and field practice through life-long and distance learning. The Institute, established by a highly-regarded team of academics, journalists and communication specialists, is a non-profit organisation based in Cyprus and is linked to the Graduate Programme ‘Communication and New Journalism’ of the Open University of Cyprus. Our project will document how debt crises undermine development and social justice, and engage the public and selected target groups in discussions about the reforms needed to improve the quality of FfD.

Our Citizens for Financial Justice project
Advanced Media Institute fully endorses the 2015 UN Global Goals and Financing for Development, and our activities are geared towards their popularisation and advancement. Focussed on Greece and Cyprus, our project will document how debt crises undermine development and social justice. We will disseminate and popularize our research outputs inside and outside Greece and Cyprus by using workshops and media work of all sorts.
We will engage the public and selected target groups in discussions about the reforms needed to improve the quality of FfD. The UN SDGs and global and financial justice must return to the forefront of public discussion, including an alternative management of debt based on stricter conceptions of debt justice and demanding its partial or even full cancellation. We will pursue these objectives by drawing on our expertise on debt issues and on our experience in the Truth Committee of the Hellenic Parliament, etc.
